As of March 31, 2023, the Department of Social Services (DSS) will resume the regular HUSKY Health eligibility process by giving all HUSKY A, B, or D Health members a chance to renew their coverage. It is important that a household’s most recent mailing address is on file to receive notifications about renewal and how to enroll in other health coverage. HUSKY Health members can verify or update their address at:  ct.gov/UpdateUsDSS

Individuals may also qualify for coverage through Access Health CT (AHCT) at any time if they have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) through a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). The Special Enrollment Period is a time outside of the Annual Open Enrollment Period when individuals can sign up for health insurance coverage through Access Health CT (AHCT).

What is Access Health CT?

AHCT (also known as the Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange) was created by the Connecticut Legislature in 2011 established to satisfy the requirements of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  AHCT is the marketplace that offers individuals, families, and small employers a range of affordable, qualified, health plans from brand-name carriers in Connecticut as well as access to many HUSKY Health programs, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Coverage Connecticut Program.  Open enrollment begins on November 1st of each year.
